Prince William County firefighters had to rescue a dog after it escaped from animal control earlier this week.

Firefighters jumped into a boat along with animal control workers and captured the pirate pooch after it doggy paddled to a small island a few hundred feet away from the shore.
They returned the wet dog to shore without injury.
