Firefighters Rescue Pooch On The Lam Who Escaped To Tiny Prince William Island

Prince William County firefighters had to rescue a dog after it escaped from animal control earlier this week.

The fire department shared photos of a daring water rescue of a chihuahua who got loose from Animal Control and jumped into a pond to escape on Tuesday, July 5. Firefighters jumped into a boat along with animal control workers and captured the pirate pooch after it doggy paddled to a small island a few hundred feet away from the shore. 

They returned the wet dog to shore without injury.
